Samenvatting
This paper deals with the transport problems of many developing countries (esp. in Africa). It is suggested that introduction of the Low-cost Transport Concept seems to be more feasible for overcoming signalised shortcomings in the transport sector and consequently could help to stop the downward spiral in socioeconomic development. In this Low-cost Transport Concept the bicycle can play a major role.
