The article deals with the results of a study into which classes of car owners would be affected by putting up the duty on petrol and abolishing road tax at the same time. Car ownership for this purpose has been split into 12 segments dependent on one or more cars per household, company car or private car etc. It can be concluded that the effect would be neutral for those who earn between Dfl, 20 000 and 40 000 per annum. Those who earn less would be better off and those who earn more will have to pay more, but they are often compensated for by their employers or have a company car.
