This manuscript deals with the 1986 and 1987 costs of traffic jams on the main road network in the Netherlands. All calculations were based on different value of time scenarios and showed driver and passenger costs to be the largest in comparisonto other variables. The costs involved (jams only) are approximately Df. 320 million in 1986 and about Df. 330 million in 1987.
