Samenvatting
A comparison is made of the costs of (1) noise screens and dikes; (2) sound insulation improvement of houses; and (3) keeping distance between highways and houses, as measures for traffic-noise-abatement. It appears that no one type of measures can be regarded as the cheapest in all circumstances. Depending on the type of urban structure screens, insulation, or a combination will be the best choice, especially in existing situations.
