Samenvatting
The question to the ratio of the planning and programming of national and regional traffic controls by the police regarding the use of alcohol by the driver is discussed. These controls are reviewed in the light of an appropriate enforcement. The influence of the use of alcohol on the number of traffic accidents is outlined. It is concluded that the police action in such controls in the Netherlands is suitable and righteous, because priority is given to the tracing of a real hazardous traffic behaviour.
