The history of Belgium is roads from ancient times to 1950 is described firstly. Secondly the improvement in the Belgium road network from 1950- 1980 is illustrated. The motorway construction ear 1965- 1972 with 100 km of motorway per year, the new needs and the new policy leading to the safety and comfort of the road user are described.
