The current traffic education on primary schools is reported. In the lower classes traffic education is less structural and systematic than in higher classes. No specific material for lessons is used and the parents are hardly involved. In the higher classes attention is given to traffic education for about one hour per week. Emphasis is given to traffic theory and traffic signs. Support should be given to skills, in particular for the cyclists, and to the possibilities for experiencing these skills in real or in simulated traffic.
