Samenvatting
This article deals with the experiments leading to the development of a device called Rimob. Its purpose is to guard fixed obstacles against collisions. The basic concept is a configuration of tubes which get puckered on impact. It is very easy to replace damaged parts, which makes maintenance relatively cheap. The Rimob is meant for the protection of e.g. gantry posts at motorway exists and piers of viaducts.
