Long term developments within the traffic and transportation system are uncertain in many aspects. With the use of scenarios these uncertainties can be analyzed in a systematic way. However, forecasting models used for scenario analysing have to meet specific demands. With the design of the Scenario Explorer it is tried to deal with these demands. Calculations of travel demand developments are based on a combination of system dynamics techniques and a strategic transportation model. This report gives an overview of the results of the feasibility study. The main characteristics of the design of the Scenario Explorer are described.
