Samenvatting
Review of research being done on the effect of bicycle lanes or separate cycle paths on the number of accidents in which cyclists and moped riders are involved. The article deals with 21 reports on research in various countries. Outside built-up areas no distinction has been made between cyclists and moped riders. Only one Dutch study has been done into the effect of provisions for cyclists within the built-up area; the rest in foreign research. The report does not lead to unanimous conclusions.
