Samenvatting
Before the safety of curved road sections can be discussed it is important to know about vehicle behaviour in straight sections, as well as in curved sections and in transition road sections. Thereafter it may be possible to get an insight into the nature and the magnitude of the problem. It is logical to study therefore the relation between accident data and the characteristics of road bends. From this the critical situations can be described. On the basis of these results it will be possible to enhance the safety of road bends.
