Samenvatting
The traffic control in the cities of Utrecht and Nieuwegein for the rapid tramway system between those cities is discussed. The applied methods in both cities are described, by which for the application in Nieuwegein a detailed explanation of the tramway flow in the total traffic control is given. Specific applications of a before warning traffic signal, changing times for clearing a junction, stop procedures, detection controls and pedestrian warning signals are described. In the end an evaluation is given of the times lost by traffic signalisation.
