Samenvatting
The paper gives an account of the work of a working group engaged in the drafting of directives for the lighting of roads outside built-up areas. Attention is paid to a proposed classification of roads and to other relevant recommendations and standards, such as cie publication no 12/2, din 5044 and sven booklet 'besparing op energie en kosten bij openbare verlichting' (saving of energy and costs in public lighting). A quite extensive statistical analysis of the results of visual appraisals of lighting installations is also reported, especially those of october 1970, as carried out in amsterdam. An idea is provided of the future work of the working group based on the statistical analysis mentioned. (Author/publisher)
