A report on the research into the extent to which the company car driver is responsible for certain negative effects related to road traffic is presented. The research focused specifically on the number of kilometers travelled, the traffic violations that have been observed, damage to the vehicles, environmental aspects and the personal characteristics of the company car driver. It is concluded that there are considerable differences between private drivers and car drivers, but that a significant part of these differences can be ascribed to the fact that the car driver has a different position in society than the private driver. The mobility and the associated (negative) effects derive from this. The driver of a company car is usually male, with an average age of 43, is either married or cohabitating and has an above-average income.
