Samenvatting

In order to present detailed information on the causal factors of rear-end collisions, this paper examines the role of driver attention, perceptual cues, and driver reaction time. Design recommendations are made based on these driver/human factors. By understanding the complex attentional and perceptual factors that make up rear-end collisions, designers can augment weaknesses in the driver through the design of future collision intervention systems.
