Samenvatting
The purpose of this in-depth study prepared for the International Road Federation, Washington D. C. is to bring together some of the known information about carriageway delineation, with particular emphasis upon marking of the edge of the carriageway in rural areas. Visits were paid to governmental and industrial personnel in eight European countries (a. o. to the Netherlands) and data and information gathered from the published literature in these and other countries are also referred to.
