Is the depressive patient under adequate pharmacological treatment fit for driving?

The sedative effects of antidepressants found in acute trials with healthy subjects leads to impairment of vigilance and attention. Studies with depressive patients over a period of two months suggest minor deficits in comparison with healthy untreated controls due either to depressive disturbance, treatment with antidepressants or the antagonistic interaction of illness and medication.
