Samenvatting
This study is concerned with the influence of alcohol on the perception of experienced drivers. The alcohol effects a regular reduction of performance of perception described as "tunnel effect". The diagnosis of an "Alcohol nystagmus" proves to be an objective criterion for "being under the influence" beside the blood alcohol level and the breath alcohol test. Therefore the nystagmus can be used as a measure for driving ability.
