Samenvatting
An experiment concerning the effects of monotony in a monitoring task on concentration and detection performance is described. In a dual task situation, a monitoring task was combined, with either a detection task performed concurrently, i.e., serially. the degree of monotony was varied, as the independent variable, in three steps by changing event frequency in the monitoring task. There was no influence of monotony on performance in the detection or the concentration task.
