Samenvatting
It was found advisable to examine eye-sight sharpness from driving license applicants in Germany, and to develop a suitable instrument for a simple eye test. The test person has to read figures of diminishing size in 3 rows (for both eyes, the right eye and the left eye). Favourable results were obtained, showing a steady decrease in the number of applicants who had to consult an ophthalmic surgeon. It is recommended to have this eye test repeated at certain intervals.
