Samenvatting
Details are given of tests carried out on the tyre testing developed in Karlsruhe. The drum of the rig was surrounded by a Gold chamber and the layers of ice were built up on the surface, so that tests could be carried out to determine the behaviour of tyres on icy roads. Most important factors conditioning the behaviour of the tyres were the surf ace temperature of the ice and the speed of the vehicle.
