Results of an interview of the population in the demonstration project "Plan Oost" in the village of Zuidwolde are presented. The project is done with governmental financing for research into the reconstruction and reclassification of residential areas. The before and after study shows that one of the expected results is realised. The speed of motorised traffic has decreased. The speed of moped riders has not been changed very much however. Through traffic and rat-run traffic decreased considerably. Hindrance by parking is as bad as before and the mobility of pedestrians and cyclists has to put up with the speed control elements. Positive expectations of the residents from before the project started have been more or less realised. The measures taken justify themselves, according to 86% of the residents, as far as the 30 km/h speed limit is concerned.
