Samenvatting

The results of a survey of the population taking part in the demonstration project "De Vliert" in the city of 's-Hertogenbosch are presented in this report. The project is financed using government funding for research into the reconstruction and reclassification of residential areas. The before and after study shows that one of the expected results is realised. The speed of motorised traffic has decreased and the residents in the street consider their street now as a street with traffic for the residents of the street only, instead of a general traffic street. They feel more safe, but still one of the five residents considers the street as "busy". There is a clear difference in the residents opinion about the layout of the street. Vehicular traffic causes less problems to other road users after the introduction of the 30 km/hour limit than before it was introduced. (see also IRRD 811603 and 811604.).
