A fuel-efficiency support tool has been designed that has proven to reduce fuel consumption significantly by inducing a directed and consistent change in driving behaviour. Average reductions in fuel consumption of up to 20% were obtained without increasing travel time. In addition, the new fuel-efficienty support tool revealed to be safe and is expected to stabilise traffic flow and reduce exhaust emissions. (A)
