The design and implementation of a demand driven freight transport application.

This paper presents the system architecture along with the implementation aspects of the pilot implemented in Greece in the context of ARTEMIS project (EU DGXIII). The presented application aims at developing a system that through the use of advanced telematics technologies initiates, organises, manages and controls the distribution and logistics processes along an intermodal, inter-organisational, demand driven supply chain by providing at the same time timely and efficient information to the involved parties.
