Samenvatting
Research has been directed towards developing high efficiency disc motors for traction application. Recently the disc machine has been applied to a hybrid car in which a twin armature motor provides tracture power while a single armature version of the same machine is employed as an engine-driven generator. The construction and design of the disc motor, the choice of magnetic material, the performance and characteristics of the motor are described.
