Samenvatting
The main purpose of this research was the designing and producing of a dummy suitable for side impact testing. This dummy could be used to design new protecting devices in lateral impact and to define and to check convenient protection criteria. Using a part 572 dummy as a starting basis, it was possible to retain technological solutions enabling the design of a dummy presumptively suitable for all types of impacts. This paper concerns the design only, since the performance and some other aspects are considered separately in the present seminar. (a)
