The form separate reports by Barton, Peake, Richter and Sandahl which are presented in Theme V have the same title, and set out the main factor to be taken into account in the design of suburban shopping centres: level of shopping provision, daily and seassual traffic fluctuations, peak-how traffic volume level of access by public and private transport, passenger interchange between various transport modes, and parking and delivery facilities. Details are given of transportation studies carried out in Great Britain, and two shopping centres in Switzerland are briefly described.
