Samenvatting
The paper reports on designs currently being implemented in the city of Abu Dhabi. A comprehensive road improvement program was set up. Key factors and priorities included in the planning and design process leading to the improvements being implemented are discussed. Informa-tion pertaining to the specific case of Abu Dhabi is presented, because there is an increased family wealth and burgeoning economic activity which give an increase in vehicle ownership and traffic flow.
