Samenvatting
Design guidelines for recreational roads are presented. They are the result of a two year study which included (1) a review of the state-of-the-art of recreational road design; (2) development of geometric design controls including a functional classification scheme, representative design vehicles, and design speeds; (3) proposed geometric design standards for alignment, sight distance etc.; and (4) a discussion of roadway aesthetic design criteria.
