Samenvatting

In this paper, the authors address the problem of developing appropriate mechanism to assist drivers in adverse road and weather conditions. A driving simulator has been designed and constructed which regenerates visual cues to a driver for evaluating driver assistive technology. The authors describe its configuration and development and the data acquisition process. A representative scenario involving the simulator is presented. Issues of both visibility and road friction are involved.
