The design of urban motorway lighting. This paper read to the June 1969 conference of South African National Committee on Illumination.

Information is given about the standards and codes of practice, luminance and illumination and glare of urban motorway lighting. Methods of lighting are mentioned. The advantages and disadvantages of opposite arrangement, central arrangement, low level, intermediate and high mast lighting and axel median arrangement are discussed.
