Samenvatting
The testing of knowledge associated with motorcycle training schemes has traditionally been carried out by an examiner testing the students one at a time in a face-to-face situation using oral methods. A study was carried out to assess the feasibility of using a multiple-choice, objective question format to test the knowledge and comprehension of trainee motorcyclists who have attended an rac/acu training course. The results obtained suggest that the procedure is appropriate and practicable for testing a wide range of the knowledge commonly required by trainee motorcyclists. The results also show that the level of knowledge of the highway code among such trainees is high, particularly for the meaning of road signs. (Author/publisher)
