Samenvatting
The main purpose of this research was to study drivers' speed selection behaviour on Finnish freeways at different speed limit areas. This study consists of a general literature review about factors affecting drivers' desired speed and a field measurement part including analyses of freeway point measurement data. The results give basic information about selected speeds on Finnish freeways and they will be used for calibrating and validating the microscopic traffic simulation program HUTSIM. (A)
