Samenvatting
An experiment was conducted to identify and quantify the cues used by a driver to judge the sign of relative motion between his own vehicle and one he is following. The ability to detect the sign of relative motion in the driving situation is investigated on a freeway. One of the most consistent effects observed was a response bias in favor of indicating that the cars had come closer when they had not.
