Samenvatting

A 56 week census of inspection records was conducted in a New Zealand. The consequences of shifting from bi- annual to annual inspections were examined firstly in terms of the expected increase of failure rates. Models with age and distance since previous inspection as the independent variables were fitted. It was then assumed that because the time between inspections would approximately double, the distance travelled between inspections would also double.
