The determination of the total number of hospitalised traffic victims by comparison of police and hospital reports.

In The Netherlands the number of fatalities is well known, but the number of hospitalised road traffic victims is not. A recent estimate of the degree of completeness of the police reporting for this group in The Netherlands is 60%. In order to check this global indication, a comparison has been made between the records in two well-established databanks. This report described only the methods used and the technical outcomes.
