Samenvatting
This paper reports a recapture of the deterrent effect of the breathalyser law occasioned by police-initiated enforcement campaign in the country of Cheshire. The experiences gained in this little-known campaign aid in understanding the limited effectiveness of the "breathalyser" law and of deterrence-oriented legislation in general.
