Research is needed to (1) the issue of socio-economic impact of a transport facility in the area it opens up or makes more accessible; (2) the problem of reducing unit costs of investments; (3) the insufficient attention usually given to the potential for better traffic management and pricing mechanisms to allocate transport space more efficiently; (4) operations efficiency in the use of transport investment.
