Samenvatting

The purpose of the present study was to develop an adequate creterion of driver behavior defined as a driver's judgements and decisions. The critical driver incident technique was used to develop a taxonomy of driver behavior based on a concensus of professionals. Incidents descriptive of good and of bed driver behavior were collected from 1,057 professionals representing 10 different specialities concerned with traffic safety. In all, 2,111 incidents were collected, from which 3,809 critical driver behaviors were abstracted and classified inductively.
