Samenvatting

The Microscopic Toll Plaza Simulation Model has been developed for the evaluation of Toll Collection System including ETCS (Electronic Toll Collection System). This model consists of several sub-modules like data input, car generation and lane assignment, toll plaza operation, toll booth assignment, car-following, lane change, measure of effectiveness (MOE) calculation, and reporting modules. The main purpose of this model is to support the establishment of the toll plaza operation policy such as the number of opened toll booths, assignment of vehicle types to each booth, and the optimal number of ETCS lanes. In this paper, at first development procedure is described, then model sub-modules, validation procedure and results are described. Finally, the application of this model for evaluation and establishment of toll collection system (TCS) operation policy are suggested.
