TravelSmart is a Victorian state government travel behaviour change program. It is voluntary and has three broad program streams covering schools, workplaces and communities. It has developed and implemented a variety of approaches across the three streams. The objective of the Victorian TravelSmart program is to achieve a reduction in growth in vehicle trips and kilometres travelled, through voluntary changes by individuals, households and organisations towards more sustainable travel choices. This paper outlines the development of the program within the context of broader state and city development policy, and provides a brief description of the current projects. The paper finishes with a summary of the range of pilot project activity including initial results. (Author/publisher) For the covering entry of this conference, please see ITRD abstract no. E210413.
