Samenvatting
A methodology was formulated to measure the effects of illumination of rural at-grade intersections in quantifiable terms. The effectiveness of illuminations in quantifiable terms. The effectiveness of illumination in modifying seven accident measures was evaluated by an analysis of variance. Before- and- after- studies were made at various intersections after which a recommendation was made as to establishment of priority for improved illumination of intersections in order to reduce the number of night accidents.
