Samenvatting
The long-distance road network formed by the Autobahns, besides increasing the flow of traffic for the benefit of the road users, is also of great importance for the regions situated in between, as it reduces the volume of traffic there. If, furthermore, the issues of environmental protection and ecology are sufficiently taken into account with the me-thods known today, in the construction and extension of the autobahn network, then autobahns represent an indispen-sable contribution to the protection of the environment of the overall system.
