Influence of cross-wind forces on road traffic is described. Based on the results obtained in wind tunnel studies it was possible to assess the value of the wind forces attacking the vehicle. Tests have revealed that vehicles having a streamlined body are particularly unstable while those provided with a pontoon-shaped body are particularly wind resisting.
