Samenvatting
The Ministry of Transport's Director-General is considering granting SWOV additional subsidy for an in-depth study of the factors that contribute to the occurrence of road crashes and to their severity. Before granting this subsidy it is important to have a good idea about the added value of in-depth research as opposed to analyses of commonly available crash data as recorded by the police, and available via the national crash database and summonses. Therefore SWOV has examined the added value of in-depth study, and has devised a research method which will guarantee this added value.
