Samenvatting
Some of the issues and choices faced by Departments of Transportation in deploying digital video into ITS applications are described. The current challenge in deploying digital video in ITS is to provide a cost-effective, operable and scalable solution for collecting and sharing video along the vast expanse of roadways to enhance ITS services. This paper discusses the main technological elements and explores the trade-offs of the various choices available.
