This book is the record of the Discoveries International Symposium held in Tokyo in 1976. The symposium was designed to build foundation for interdisciplinary researches and a wide variety of discussion was made. The entire sessions of the symposium can be divided into 5 chapters from the points of research of modern civilization in terms of "spirit", quest for its future and creation of a new civilization based on human beings.
