A key feature of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) is the use of information about transport system conditions to improve overall system performance. So, ITS can generate massive amounts of data that are used primarily in managing system operations and providing information on system conditions and choices to the public. These data available from ITS can be of great value for transportation planning and operations application etc beyond their immediate use in ITS control strategies and operations. This paper analyses the demand for ITS data management in China, and presents a research way to manage ITS data in China. Base on this way, the major contents about data management concept system, data management organization, data management model, and data-shared management schemes for ITS in China are discussed in this paper.
