Samenvatting
The traffic surveillance and control system of Taiwan National Freeway was commenced for operation of 10 November 1984. First of all in this paper, the system configurations and functions are introduced. Secondly, the effectiveness of system operation are pointed out and discussed. In terms of prospects, this system will be the foundation for setting up the automated office system within the Freeway Organization. Although it is only a short period of time since the system started to operate, the effectiveness is significant and recognised.
